Sarah Cullin

This is a 'Map' produced by a Toronto based artist, Sarah Cullin. She creates these maps by walking around carrying a box which inside contains a pen hanging from the top acting as a type of pendulum, as she travels the pen creates a visual representation of her journey on the paper below it.

Exploring watercolour

Bumpy Ride

Drawing the movements of my journeys.

More Than Rain

This started as a small sketchbook project to illustrate a Tom Waits song but developed into something slightly more, I think I may make a small book out of these.

Queen Street, East - West

Screenprinting project based on the variable of editions. For me this is a journey. The first of the editions is at the bottom and works up, for some reason it wouldnt upload 2 of them so there is supposed to be 10.

Earth Day has landed

Finally finished this poster, happy with the colour scheme but the blue could have been slightly more subdued, it was good fun to make though.

Okay so this is for my class Bending Reclaimed Technology, the idea is to find old technology that has now been supersede and bring it back to life again, while at the same time transforming it. I found this old SHARP 2 colour ribbon receipt printer, my intentions are to create a population censor. It should judge how many people are in a room using a motion detector, stopping the printing with the more motion it gets. Using the printed text as a kind of drawn scale it will then display this data. The paper will be on a single reel so that it will print over itself, the darker the numbers get the less people are in the room.

Finally figured out how to deal with people moving and getting in the way while I'm drawing on the street car etc. layers and overlapping.

This is the first musings of my metal works project - Structures for behavior. Now looking into string puppets.
